After completion of the course the candidate will:

• Have a basic understanding of the industry, the dangers of working in confined spaces and their responsibilities as an operative.
• To be able to enter and traverse a confined space individually and as part of a team in a trained, competent manner.
• Have a basic understanding of defining confined spaces.
• Have a basic understanding of managing confined spaces.
• Be able to identify gas detection – Hazardous atmospheres.
• Know classification and applications of the types of categories under their control for low, medium and high risk working.
• Have a basic understanding of Disease/ Hygiene.
• Have a basic understanding of working at height – Harnesses, tripod and winch.
• Have a basic understanding of emergency escape breathing apparatus (High and medium risk only)
• Have a basic understanding of manning Levels and communication.
• Have a basic understanding of self-contained breathing apparatus.
• Have a basic understanding of traverse procedures. (High risk only)
